Description
This is a NAM model of the Boss Metal Zone MT-2 (pedal) @ 1000 epochs set as a clean boost, at some point years ago, I began hearing about how awesome a Boss Metal Zone was as a clean boost before an amp. I honestly had never tried to use a Metal Zone like this before (had just used it as a standalone full distortion pedal into clean amps) but was blown away. When ran this way (all tone dials at noon and gain at zero but level full) it is like it is a compressor, an equalizer, and a slight overdrive / distortion all in in one! Supposedly Kirk Windstein of Crowbar runs a Metal Zone in this configuration before his Orange amps. The interesting thing is, it seems many use distortion / overdrive pedals in this boost way before the amp (usually Tubescreamers and SD-1s etc etc) and that boost effect seems to me to translate well with VST emulations in DAWs, but in my experience not the Metal Zone VSTs (not sure why that is), this may be one of the times that NAM really shines in that I only plan to use the Metal Zone with those same exact settings everytime, so one "snapshot" @ 1000 epochs should be sufficient.
