Description

The Digitech GSP2101, released in late 1993, was a revolutionary unit for the time. It features a digitally-controlled tube preamp section (with two fully-powered 12AX7 tubes, this is NOT a cheap starved-plate design), a digitally-controlled ANALOG 7-band graphic EQ, and a multitude of digital effects. These 12 models represent the highest-gain mode of the twin tube pre section (labeled Saturated Tube on the unit). The unit has independent gain levels for each tube, labeled Gain1 and Gain2. The models show a single gain value, which is the value I set both gain levels to on the unit. The boosted models have had the test signal run through an MXR Wylde Overdrive (gain at 9 o'clock, tone at 12 o'clock, output at 2 o'clock). The scooped models utilize the onboard analog EQ with a +4/-4/+4 scoop applied. Side note, the "boosted g11" models are quite noisy; this unit is over 30 years old, some noise is to be expected. They are very playable, however, so don't be afraid to try them! I hope you enjoy these models of a classic unit.
