Description
IRs made from the cabinet and speaker of my 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb loaded with a Jensen P12Q 8ohm speaker. Seven different close mics were used to capture both the upper and lower speakers; R121, SM57, MD421, i5, SM7B, SM94, and C414, mic'd in the following positions: -Cap=center of the cap -Cap Edge=edge of the cap where it meets the cone -Cone=midpoint of the cone halfway between cap and cone edge -Cone Edge=edge of the cone right next to the baffle Three distant mics were also used; C414, and M160, both mic'd at the center of the cabinet at distances of 12" and 24". These is also an SM75 rear mic at 0", 12", and 24". Mics were powered by Universal Audio 2-610 mic pres, passed through HCL Varis Tube Vari-Mu compressor for color, and into RME Fireface converters.
