Arlington Audio - Neural Amp Modeler library ------------------------------------------ Marshall - Mode Four (All Tube) If you were to ask anyone which was the worst Marshall amp ever released, they'd say anything in the MG series. But a second worst would be the Mode Four though I've never shared in that sentiment. The first big boy Marshall I ever encountered was my brother's one and I loved the way it sounded. It was capable of a host of Marshall tones and the ability to select 4 channels from a footswitch was quite rad! As I grew up and got to know more amps, I begun to understand what Marshall were trying to do with the Mode Four. Taking lessons learned with the Valvestate, they created an all in one amp that could do the cla One thing is for sure though, they're fragile beasts. I've only ever blown up two amps and they were both Mode Fours and one was my brothers. The other was this very unit. Unfortunately, I destroyed the IC chips by plugging an 8ohm load into output 1 and apparently that's a big no no. It gave a fantastic light show though! I was able to get the amp running again by changing the fuse, a few caps and removing all 4 output ICs which disabled the power amp section. You could argue that this isn't the authentic Mode Four experience because the solid state power section was disengaged however in its place I used the power section from my JCM800 Zakk Wylde Sig to create an ALL TUBE MODE FOUR. Let's also be real, the output ICs are $3 each and are quite sterile. Not that they're bad at all, but I decided that having an all tube Mode Four would be a pretty sweet amp to distribute. TM SETTINGS: The Mode Four has what is labelled a Tone Matrix control on OD1 and OD2. There are 3 settings to select from that have been implemented in this library. Clean: Bass: 4.5 - Mid: 6.5 - Treble: 7 - Presence: 9 Crunch: Bass: 10 - Mid: 10 - Treble: 6.5 - Presence: 9 OD1: Bass: 4.5 - Mid: 10 - Treble: 6 - Presence: 7 OD2: Bass: 4 - Mid: 4.5 - Treble: 7.5 - Presence: 8 Technical details: Captures: 151 @ 1000 Epochs per capture. While I offer my libraries for free, donations would be appreciated and will go towards expanding this library https://paypal.me/arlingtonaudio
