Sunface RCA Germanium Fuzz (fuzz cleanup models)

Description

Fuzz face is known for having really great clean ups when you roll the volume knob on your guitar down due to impedance changes and its interaction with the fuzz input; however, with NAM being a digital capture and the guitar has to run through the audio interface where the audio is buffered, this impedance change won't exist when you roll the guitar volume knob down. In order to try to simulate this behavior, I ran the audio from my reamp box into a Passive 250k ohms volume pedal in order to simulate a volume knob impedance, where I then lower the volume by rocking the pedal back before capturing the audio. This seems to work decent to simulate the cleanup through a capture. When rolling the volume down, the capture will clean up properly and when at max volume, the capture will get (almost) fuzzy, which is a behavior I really like.
